Hong Kong – 24 September 2026: The 2026 Fixed Income and Currency (FIC) Conference, jointly hosted by FICC Department of CITIC Securities International (CSI) and CITIC Futures International (CFI), was successfully held in Hong Kong.
Centered on the theme “Tradeable, Hedgeable and Priceable: Advancing RMB Internationalisation through Hong Kong-based RMB Assets Risk Management Solutions”, the conference focused on emerging industry trends in the first year of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030) and the opportunities for Hong Kong to consolidate its position as an international financial center. It also explored innovative pathways to advance RMB internationalisation and enhance Hong Kong’s role as the offshore RMB assets hub.
The conference brought together over 60 institutional clients across the globe. It aimed to further expand CSI’s institutional client base in Hong Kong and overseas markets, enhance the international influence of its comprehensive fixed income and currency risk management solutions, and strengthen the global recognition of the service brand “Go Global with CITIC, Enter China with CITIC.”
Mr. James XU, Co-Chief Executive Officer of CSI, attended the conference and delivered the welcome remarks. He highlighted the promising outlook for Hong Kong’s wealth management and asset management markets and expressed his expectation of partnering with global investors to capitalise on market opportunities and create new possibilities for mutually beneficial cooperation.
Mr. Ming Ming, CITIC Securities’ Chief Economist, shared forward-looking insights on the fluctuating recovery of China’s economy and the adoption of more proactive macroeconomic policies, while providing an in-depth analysis of asset class outlooks and potential risk factors.
Guest speakers and experts from Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX), China CITIC Bank International, BOCHK Asset Management, China Asset Management HK, and CITIC Futures Research Institute contributed forward-looking insights and market expertise on topics including Hong Kong’s role and development as the offshore RMB assets hub and risk management center, the strategic outlook of HKEX China Government Bond futures, and the overview of Hong Kong’s gold market and precious metals prospects. Together with global investors and diverse market participants, they engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanged views on evolving market dynamics and CITIC’s comprehensive solutions.
Looking ahead, CSI and CFI will continue to build on Hong Kong’s unique position and global connectivity, fully utilise CITIC Group’s integrated financial strengths, further enrich offshore RMB asset investment and risk management tools and services. By enhancing end-to-end capabilities across the full chain of asset allocation, trading, hedging, and pricing, CSI and CFI will actively support the development of Hong Kong’s offshore RMB financial ecosystem and consolidate Hong Kong’s core competitiveness as an international financial center, steadily advancing RMB internationalisation, contributing to China’s high-standard opening-up strategy.
